OTPA's 15th Annual Preservation Awards Banquet a Success!
Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.
If you missed this event then you missed a good time. As usual, the folks at
Citrus City out did themselves with delicious food and plenty of drink. Sandy Quinn,
emcee extraordinaire, kept the evening's event running smoothly and also kept
everyone in stitches with his clever comments and quips. To Patty Ricci and her team,
thank you all for your hard work. And we especially want to thank all who attended for
preserving that which we love...these old homes and our neighborhood.
The 2009 Year's Winners Are...
The Sweet, Sweet Orange Award for outstanding restoration, preservation or enhancement of an historic site in Old Towne went to
Jeff & Sandy Frankel for their hard work in restoring, both inside and out, their home on South Orange Street.
The Pitcher Park Award to Dave & Lora Royster of South Grand Street for their outstanding landscape or garden enhancement on an historic site in Old Towne.
The Plaza City Award for outstanding restoration, preservation or enhancement of a commercial, industrial or public use property which sustains the life and vitality inherent in the original Orange Township went to Susan Secoy-Jensen for her wonderful work on the Ice House.
The Special Merit Award is given to a person, group, program, process or building that has contributed to preservation in Old Towne. We're proud to announce winners, Mike & Tanya Williams who recognized the value of saving the old Immanuel Lutheran Church parsonage by having it moved to it's current location on N. Cleveland.
The Spirit of Old Towne Award is given to a person or group who has contributed most to the mission of OTPA, which is to preserve and enhance the unique Old Towne Orange area through education, communication and community involvement. Janet Crenshaw accepted the award on Anne Siebert's behalf, as we lost our dear Anne in April.
Dale Rahn Volunteer of the Year Award went to Brady MacDonald. This award is given each year to an individual who demonstrates a commitment to Old Towne Orange by volunteering their time in various community programs and concerns to support the goals of OTPA. Congratulations, Brady! |
