The Irish Street Banger food booth was a FUNdraising success!
The pleasant smelling food aromas wafting in the breeze lured thousands of folks to Orange's annual street fair and eventually to Old Towne Preservation's food booth on Irish Street.
It was party time on Irish Street with great eats, drink and toe tapping music! This year OTPA served hot-off-the-grill sausages and sauteed onions and peppers creating a wonderful combination of spicy, sweet, and creamy. The combination of tasting new foods, being with friends and soaking in the sunshine was simply intoxicating. Many thanks to those who supported the food booth in buying a banger and a drink, and to those who volunteered behind the booth serving customers with a genuine smile.
We value our dedicated volunteers and thank them for their time and energy making the OTPA food booth a success.
For anyone not listed, but who volunteered their time and smiles, please forgive our oversight if your name is not shown.

First ever membership meeting held at Ruby's Diner, a whistling success!
More than 50 members and guests arrived to observe a new and improved Historic Orange Train Depot. Complete with wood trim, earthen toned painted walls throughout, arched walking passages and of course small scale trains chuffing from above.
"We were pleased to see so many OTPA members at the April meeting; and it was a pleasure to be a part of revealing both Ruby's and Orange Home Grown to the Old Towne residents. We know that both will be wonderful partners with the community," said Sheri Ledbetter, OTPA education and research chair.
Ruby's Diner and Old Towne Preservation Association drew on each others strengths to attract the largest attendance record for an OTPA membership meeting. With many thanks to Sheri for coordinating this effort.
"Both Ruby's and Orange Home Grown are top-notch organizations. The OTPA was pleased to be able to partner with them at this membership meeting. Based on the turnout and the fun and relaxed atmosphere of the evening, I would call this event a success," said Michelle Carder, OTPA president.
Raffle prizes were plentiful this night with Tshirt giveaways from Orange Home Grown won by Brian Parrott and Emily Weerheim, spice rub and barbecue sauce gift basket from Memphis Cafe was taken home by Tita Smith, Mayor pro tem. Bob Hitchcock and Dan Slater claimed the two Old Towne Orange Walking Food Tours give away, and Tara Klasna won the Ruby's Diner gift certificate for an upcoming dining experience.

The OTPA Holiday Decorating Contest
Tinsel Town in Old Towne Orange
All that glitters is great when it comes to the annual OTPA holiday decorating contest held on Dec. 12. Luckily for this year’s volunteer judges some folks have difficulty deciding when enough, is indeed enough. Some might just figure, “never!” and the proof is found in many Old Towne quadrants where the residents have delved into the holiday spirit with hearts and eyes wide open.
Congratulations to all who participated and came within bulbs of clutching top marks!
