With heavy hearts, we share the news that today, former OTPA President and current board member Jan Chomyn lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. This vibrant, funny, warm, insightful, and intelligent woman has been an asset to theOld Towne Orange community for years. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jan's husband, Myron, and her family. We will miss you greatly, Jan.
OTPA Nominates 14-Member Board
The Old Towne Preservation Association’s 2016 Nominating Committee has proposed a board of directors for next year of nine current directors, joined by five new members.
Committee chair Tony Trabucco said the directors will be voted on at the Association’s annual meeting, at Jason’s by the Circle restaurant at 6 pm on Monday, January 11.
The proposed 2016 slate includes:
Renominated Current Directors: Sandy Quinn, President Tony Trabucco, Vice President Carol Craig, Treasurer Diane Zdenek, Secretary Jeff Frankel, Preservation Chair Guy Hinrichs, Education and Research Chair Bob Hitchcock, Director-at-Large and Chapman University Liaison Jan Chomyn, Director-at-Large (in Memoriam)
Nominated New Directors: Teri Lepe, Board Member of Orange Barrio Historic Society Courtney, Board Member of Friends of the Orange Public Library Patrick McDermott, Director, Operational Risk Management, Banking Industry Joe Peters, Disney Imagineer for 32 years Paula Soest, Board Member of Orange Home Grown Farmers and Artisans Market
“The 2016 nominees represent a strong combination of returning directors with experience, joined by a team of new talent, skills and community involvements,” Trabucco said. “The 14 nominees have a demonstrated commitment to OTPA’s mission of preserving and enhancing the historic character of Old Towne Orange."
