Memorial services for Jan Chomyn will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 6 at the Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa. Jan passed away on January 9 at age 67 of pancreatic cancer with her husband of 25 years at her side.
The cancer was diagnosed in early December of 2015.
Jan resided in Old Towne and was active in community affairs for decades. She was a former president of the Old Towne Preservation Association and a member of its current board of directors. Jan was on the board of the Women’s Ministry of Heritage Christian Fellowship of Orange, and enjoyed spending her free time in sculpture, jewelry design and oil painting.
She is survived by her husband Miron and daughter Elisa Dyer of Corona; and her sister Carol Groft of Tacoma, Washington. Jan and her husband once owned the French Inn, now the French Estate, on S. Batavia in Orange.
Instead of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society at 3631 S. Harbor Blvd., Santa Ana, California 92704, and designated for pancreatic cancer research.
